This week we have opened our Vault of Human Understanding to study a very important person in our lives…our dads.
Whether you are a dad, or play the role of dad in someone’s life, we wanted to dig deeper into seeing how your brains really work. What are your emotional triggers? What would you consider to be your perfect Father’s Day?
In the study, our dads had very similar responses of what made a perfect Father’s Day. It involves spending time with their families…relaxing not feeling like they have to accomplish anything. No “honey-do’s”, no deep thinking, no excessive talking, and definitely, no expectations for the day.
Dads want to feel appreciated and respected. They want to hear that they are important to their families.
At Marketing Brainology, we study deep emotional connections. Brands that also understand dads will ultimately break through and gain long-term loyalty.
The best Father’s Day ads we tested showed dads relaxing with their families… in settings that dads could relate to.
Not all dads had the same connection to each ad, but a few stood out more than others because they understood what dads truly want.
So, if you are about to give your favorite dad a large screen TV or the latest Bose Sunglasses, keep in mind they might enjoy a hug and a few words of encouragement even more.
Happy Father’s Day from Marketing Brainology!
