The Fourth of July—also known as Independence Day has been celebrated since 1776 and a Federal holiday since 1941. Since the beginning, our country has experienced our fair share of trials and tribulations.
Our Founding Fathers debated extensively what the right balance between freedom and security our country should have. Freedom was valued above all. Today, we voice our opinions about our personal beliefs through social media, protests, and in the voting booth.
